AFHS Trade Centre – Cairns Airport

The Cairns Regional Trade Centre is gearing up for take-off, with construction of the new facility underway at the Cairns Airport. Hansen Yuncken were the principal contractor to build the Centre, with Air Freight Handling Services overseeing the development of the project. This project has been a much-valued asset to our agricultural and aquacultural industries in Far North Queensland. The Queensland Government has invested $10 -$15 million to deliver this project. Terranovus Civil continues their on-going commitments to Hansen Yuncken in delivering this innovative design at the Cairns Airport. This project commenced with bulk earthworks and pilling which set the stage for a solid foundation on the subgrade material. The seamless kerbing works define pathways with a blend of form and function, underpinning the landscape’s integrity. Concrete slabs and driveways were prepped and poured to create durability. Terranovus also asphalted the carpark – creating a safe, smooth and accessible area for all trucks, cars and visitors. Through our collaboration with Hansen Yuncken, the AFHS Trade Centre was delivered on time and on budget. We are proud to contribute to a landscape that embraces growth, vision and innovative design.
